The second update to Gizoogle 2.0 has been released for all versions (Firefox addon / Chrome addon / bookmarklet / textilizer / embeddable buttons).
This is a small update that should’ve been included from the beginning. New words and quotes weren’t a priority in this update (more time will be spent digging for those in larger waves).
Version 2.0.2 Changes:
- Replacements for phrases longer than one word can work now
- Added 3 word replacement(s) that were previously incompatible
- Added 0 quote(s)
- Fixes stretched icons in the Firefox 29 redesign (220.127.116.11 hotfix)
Admittedly, up until now, Gizoogle 2.0 has been missing a feature from the original Gizoogle: translations for phrases longer than 1 word. Right now the difference is only 3 phrases, so it’s not like I was hiding a huge flaw, but it would have been a problem if the word-lists are to be expanded (hint hint). This was the only remaining inconsistency between the original Gizoogle’s translations, as far as anyone knows.
Technically it still adds more processing time, but considering I can still translate the Great Gatsby in under 10 seconds, the added time definitely doesn’t outweigh accuracy and consistency with the original site.
There shouldn’t be any problems adding more words to the list now, so if you want to suggest a transizlation, submit a word or phrase and it might get added to a list of suggested words to be added to Gizoogle.
